Heavy Equipment Glass Replacement and Repair in Bend, Oregon

When a windshield cracks on an excavator or a side window shatters on a forklift, that machine is down until the glass is fixed. Oregon Windshields keeps heavy equipment and large commercial vehicles working across Central Oregon with flat glass replacement, custom glass cutting, and on-site repair.

Our flat glass technicians have decades of heavy equipment glass experience. We install one-piece and split windshields, door glass, side and rear windows, and the moldings, gaskets, and frameless and tempered glass that go with them. Whether your equipment is on a job site in Bend, Redmond, Sisters, Sunriver, La Pine, or Prineville, we can get it back to work.

Oregon Windshields is locally owned and operated in Bend. We use high-quality OEM and aftermarket glass, and we fabricate what we can't source. If the manufacturer no longer makes the part, we can still take care of you.

‍

Heavy Equipment We Service

We replace and repair windshields, door glass, and side and rear windows on construction, earthmoving, and material-handling equipment, including:

  • Excavators and mini excavators
  • Skid-steer loaders and track loaders
  • Backhoes and wheel loaders
  • Bulldozers and motor graders
  • Forklifts and telehandlers
  • Dump trucks, water trucks, and other heavy-duty work trucks
  • Engineering and construction equipment of all kinds

Heavy equipment glass takes more abuse than any passenger vehicle. Flying rock on a job site, a dropped bucket, vibration from a breaker attachment, and the daily grind of Central Oregon's high desert dust and freeze-thaw winters all take a toll. A cracked cab window isn't just a visibility problem. It's an operator safety issue, and on many machines it compromises the cab's rollover and falling-object protection.

Most heavy equipment uses flat glass panels rather than the curved laminated windshields found on cars and trucks. That's good news for turnaround time. Flat glass can often be cut to fit in our shop, which means we're not waiting on a back-ordered part from the manufacturer. Ask about our flat glass cutting expertise when you call.

Fleet Vehicle Services

If you run a fleet, a cracked windshield isn't a repair ticket. It's a truck off the road, a driver idle, and a route that doesn't get covered. Oregon Windshields works with contractors, delivery companies, landscapers, utilities, and municipal fleets across Central Oregon to keep vehicles in service. We handle everything from a single work truck to a full yard of box trucks, cargo vans, buses, and heavy equipment under one account.

Fleet customers get volume pricing, a single point of contact, and scheduling built around your operation. We can service multiple vehicles in one visit, work around route and shift schedules, and come to your yard or job site with mobile service so you're not shuttling trucks to the shop. One invoice, consistent pricing, and the same technicians every time.

We also help fleet managers stay ahead of glass problems. Small rock chips on work trucks turn into long cracks fast on Central Oregon's rough roads and freeze-thaw winters, and a chip repair costs a fraction of a replacement. Call (541) 636-0965 to set up a fleet account, and we'll give you one number to call whenever a vehicle needs glass.

Buses, Box Trucks, and Large Commercial Vehicles

Our flat glass technicians handle all sorts of large commercial vehicles, not just off-road equipment. We specialize in one-piece and split windshield installation and replacement for:

  • School buses, transit buses, and shuttle buses
  • Box trucks and delivery trucks
  • Sprinter, Transit, and ProMaster cargo vans
  • Service trucks, utility trucks, and specialty commercial vehicles

Split windshields are common on older buses and work trucks, and they require a different approach than a single bonded pane. Each half has to be set and sealed correctly so the center divider stays weather-tight and the glass doesn't stress-crack from the frame. Our technicians have installed both configurations for decades and know the difference.

For fleet operators, downtime is money. We offer volume pricing for fleets and can coordinate service around your route schedule so vehicles are back on the road quickly. If you manage a fleet in Bend, Redmond, or anywhere in Central Oregon, ask about a standing fleet account.

Custom Flat Glass Cutting and Fabrication

Not every piece of equipment has a replacement window sitting on a shelf. Older machines, imported equipment, and models that are no longer in production can leave owners stuck waiting weeks for a part that may not exist anymore. We solve that problem with in-house fabrication.

Our technicians can fabricate custom-cut glass to fit your existing frame. We measure the opening, cut the panel to spec, and finish the edges so it installs cleanly and seals properly. We fabricate tempered windows, frameless windows, and flat laminated panels, and we source the correct moldings and gaskets to go with them.

Fabrication also covers the less common problems that come up with heavy equipment:

  • Windows that have popped out of the frame. Equipment flexes under load and on rough ground, and over time that can work a window loose. We reset the glass and replace worn gaskets so it stays put.
  • Damaged or dried-out gaskets and seals. A cracked gasket lets water and dust into the cab and lets the glass rattle. We replace seals even when the glass itself is fine.
  • Discontinued or hard-to-find glass. If the manufacturer can't supply it, we cut it. Is your equipment no longer in production? No problem.

Bring us the machine or send us photos and measurements, and we'll tell you what we can do.

Warranty, Insurance, and Pricing

Warranty on heavy equipment glass

Because heavy equipment installations vary so much in complexity, our standard auto glass warranty doesn't apply. Warranty terms are outlined at the time of your consultation, once we've inspected the equipment and know exactly what the job involves. Bring it in today so we can take a look.

Insurance claims

Many commercial equipment and fleet policies cover glass replacement. Our customer service team will help you with your insurance claim from start to finish: documenting the damage, filing with your carrier, and handling the paperwork so you can focus on running your business. If you're paying out of pocket, our competitive cash prices get you back to work without a long wait.

What we need for a quote

Heavy equipment glass quotes depend on the specific machine, so the more detail you can give us up front, the faster we can price the job. Please have the following ready when you contact us:

  • Make, model, and year of the equipment
  • Serial number or chassis number
  • Which glass is damaged (windshield, door, side, rear, or roof)
  • Whether the windshield is a single piece or split
  • A photo of the damage and the surrounding frame, if possible

With that information we can usually tell you whether the glass is available from the manufacturer, whether we'll fabricate it, and what the turnaround will look like.
